Rinse Pimp Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Rinse Pimp be refilled?

Yes, this is the feature that sets the Rinse Pimp apart from other spot-free rinse products available on the market. The Rinse Pimp can be refilled as many times as you like, you simply order the supplies from us, remove the old resin and replace with the new - very easy, very cost effective and kinder to the environment than disposing of the whole filter. Please see refill instructions for more information.

How do I know when the Rinse Pimp is due a refill?

The resin changes colour to indicate when it is becoming exhausted. The resin will change from blue to orange. See refill instructions for more information.

What happens if I continue to use the Rinse Pimp after the resin colour has changed?

The resin will change colour to signal when replacement is due so if you continue to use the Rinse Pimp you will not get a spot-free rinse as the resin will be ineffective.

How can I maximise life of the resin?

Please refer to our Rinse Pimp Instructions page.

Can I use the Rinse Pimp in conjunction with a pressure washer?

No, the flow rate would be far too high.

Is the colour change resin light sensitive?

Yes, when not in use the Rinse Pimp should be drained and kept away from direct sunlight. A dark garage or shed is ideal.

Can I wax my car after using the Rinse Pimp?

Yes you can, the Rinse Pimp simply provides a pure water rinse to achieve the spot-free finish.

How long does the resin last?

The life of the resin depends on the hardness of the water in your area. Please see water hardness and resin life for more information.

What can I do with the resin when I empty the Rinse Pimp?

The resin is inert and therefore perfectly safe to dispose of in your dustbin.

What is the ideal flow rate for maximising the life of the resin?

We would recommend about 2 litres per minute.

Can the Rinse Pimp be used in any direction?

For best results we recommend the Rinse Pimp is used in the direction indicated on the label and is mounted vertically with the flow going down through the resin.
